The Boston Terrier is a lively and rather determined little dog that is also good-natured, unlike other terriers. This is a terrier that loves to be with people.
Being considerate, sensible and friendly they make lovely pets. This is a great dog for a family, being good with children, small pets and unfamiliar dogs.

The Boston Terrier is alert and loves to play. Really loves to be around people.
Exercise Requirements
Not demanding at all, one or two short walks each day is enough. Considered to need medium exercise requirements.
Attitude Towards:
Owners: These dogs show loyalty towards their owners and lots of affection.
Children: They are good around children and love to play with them.
Other Pets: Good with other small pets including cats.
Strangers: Friendly towards strangers, especially if well socialised.
Other Unfamiliar Dogs: Good with other dogs if well socialised from an early age.
What to Watch Out For
If you look at the photo you will notice that the dog has rather bulbous eyes, which are prone to injury. As you can see it has a shortened nose, which can make breathing a problem which will cause snoring.
Bitches have been known to struggle giving birth down to the large heads that the puppies have. These dogs are prone to suffer from a variety of allergies.
Health Risks
The main things that need to be noted down include; Patellar luxation, Leg-Calve-Perthes, cataracts, epilepsy, heart problems and deafness.
Ideal Owner
The perfect owner of the Boston Terrier will have plenty of time for play and socialising with the dog. A person that is gentle and good-natured will get on well with the Boston.
