The Chihuahua is a big dog in a little body, they are alert and very friendly. These dogs are devoted to their owners and love to play.

As you would expect for such a small dog, they are a little stand offish with over loud and lively children and other dogs that are a lot bigger than themselves.

The Chihuahua loves to be around people and is very playful, great for families with children. These small dogs are alert, spirited, bold, friendly and affectionate.

Exercise Requirements

These dogs do like to exercise, but do not require a lot. This is a dog that requires a low amount of exercise. One good walk each day and lots of play at home is enough to keep them happy.

Attitude Towards:

Owners: They are faithful and devoted towards their owners and will show a lot of affection.

Children: Are good around children, although could get injured easily through boisterous play.

Other Pets: Great around other small pets including cats.

Strangers: Very shy towards strangers, will be reserved with them.
