Chinese Crested Hairless
The Chinese Crested Hairless are lively dogs that are very affectionate and devoted to their owners. However, they are considered high maintenance.
A daily skin care routine is necessary for the hairless variety of this breed, which are know for a variety of skin complaints, and believe it or not acne.

Special Characteristics
These little dogs love to be around people and are very friendly. They are lively, affectionate, sensitive, fun-loving and at times can be a little stubborn.
Exercise Requirements
The Chinese Crested Hairless breed is classed as a low exercise requirements breed. A good play at home together with 1 or 2 short walks each day is enough to satisfy their needs.
Attitude Towards:
Owners: Will be loving and friendly towards their owners.
Children: Are great around children, however they can get injured during boisterous play.
Other Pets: Good around other pets, no problems here.
Strangers: Are friendly towards strangers and will want to play with them.
Other Unfamiliar Dogs: They are friendly around unknown dogs, even more so if they have been well socialised from an early age.
What to Watch Out For
These dogs could well be difficult to house train and are prone to territory marking, particularly the male. These dogs do require a daily skin care routine.
Being hairless they also will suffer in the cold temperatures and if not looked after correctly in the sun will get sunburned really easily.
Health Risks
These dogs will suffer from skin complaints if the daily skin care routine is not done correctly. The dog may have missing teeth and toe nails. The young Chinese Crested Hairless can go through a so called teenage acne stage.
Other things to take note of include; patellar luxation, several different eye conditions, closed ear canals and epilepsy.
Ideal Owner
The perfect owner needs to be a sociable character who needs to have the time available to do their daily skin care routine correctly.
